MEAP 8.10.704 Update Released

MEAP 8.10.704

MEAP version 8.10.704 update has been released.

8.10.704 UPDATE:

  • Added support for Cubase 10.xx versions
  • Further speeded up export by re-enabling the export key command instead of searching for the button
  • Recompiled with latest compiler 14.5.4
  • A few minor issues fixed (typos)
  • Small tweaks and fixes / improvements
  • Squashed some more buglets

This was the continuation of an extremely difficult task, due to the nature of the way Cubase 10’s window structure works. Also now the Export Audio dialog has changed again.

Please note that this version re-enables the key-command to start the actual export of audio. This is set in the ini file. It was set to Button previously, as there were issues getting the key command to work. I believe that is now solved. Please look in the manual regarding this.

Also I have discovered an issue with Zero To Last Part option, where the project start point is changed after each export. (Depending on the project type). This is an issue with Cubase and has been reported to Steinberg. There is nothing MEAP can do to change this until it is fixed within the audio application.

There are still some very important things to note. For example, the inspector must be hidden. This is because MEAP will be looking for SOLO buttons and may find the wrong button. (ie. it may find the one in the Inspector instead of the Track List).

Also the entire way that file names and paths are entered has changed drastically.

If anyone has any issues with this please do let me know via the usual channels.

This is a free update for all registered MEAP users.

Please note, as usual, if you are using any custom MEAP graphics you will need to replace them after installing the update

Track Naming Not Working or Other Odd Things

Disable Conflicting Apps

If you are seeing unexplained odd behavior when MEAP is working, you may have an application running in the background that is interfering with the clipboard process or the key command process.

Symptoms of this could be:

  • MEAP is getting the track name but then pasting %t_name% or 1_%t_name% into the Export Audio Dialog
  • You have all the MEAP key commands set correctly but the keys don’t seem to be getting to Cubase/Nuendo
  • The Stop Track name is ignored

The solution to this is very simple:

Disable your Hotkey application while running MEAP.

Or add an exception so that the Hotkey or Clipboard application does not interfere with MEAP sending key commands to Cubase/Nuendo.

Examples of applications that may interfere with MEAP:

  • AutoHotkey
  • Nostalgy
  • Ditto (No issue with Ditto here but potentially could interfere with clipboard)
  • Phrase Express

Further to this, as with many sensitive applications, it is always a good idea to stop any background tasks that may conflict, when you are running MEAP.

If anyone has any other examples of applications that are known to interfere with MEAP,  please let me know and I will add to the list.

Thank you.

MEAP version 8.10.516 update has been released.

8.10.516 UPDATE:

  • Added initial support for Cubase 10

This was an extremely difficult task, due to the nature of the way Cubase 10’s window structure works. I have been testing this and find it to be working OK.

There are some very important things to note. For example, the inspector must be hidden. This is because MEAP will be looking for SOLO buttons and may find the wrong button. (ie. it may find the one in the Inspector instead of the Track List).

Also the entire way that file names and paths are entered has changed drastically.  For example, It is no longer possible to simply type your file name. You have to click first.
