What happened to the MEAP Forum?

In May – June  2012 MEAP was moved from an outdated CMS software. This was quite a major operation.

Sadly there was absolutely no way to import the existing forum and discussions into the new system. Also, to replicate the technical support area of the forum, in trials required a lot of extra resources on the new system and was scrapped early on.

The support which was previously offered on the old forum has now moved to a much simpler and much more efficient set of support forms.

  • A Technical Support Form – For registered MEAP users
  • A General Contact Form – For General Questions, Pre-Sales Questions and Testimonials

All existing customers were imported to the new system but their passwords were not – so existing customers have to reset their password in order to access downloads on the new site. Other subscribers to the forum who were not MEAP users could not be imported.

All the important information from the old forum has been added manually to the FAQ and Testimonial sections of the new site.

If you are a MEAP users from before May 2012 and you had customised graphics made that were passed on on via the forum – You should head over there and save them to your machine as soon as possible.

I do think there is always a place for public discussion. Many of the features of MEAP were the result of some awesome user discussion and requests. So I am hoping that any future public discussion and feature requests can be talked about at the MEAP Facebook Page.

There is still a possibility of adding another forum here but it would be a lot of resources for something that is not used too much, especially now that MEAP already has many of the features that have been discussed in the past.

I would welcome any opinions on this though and any other thoughts, suggestions or requests.

Please head over to the MEAP Facebook Page and let me know what you think.
